Bachi Corps (バチコープス, Bachi Kōpusu), also known as Bachi Bachi (バチバチ) in Japan is a planned spinoff in the Aozora's Adventure series. The concept is based on a Run and Gun game styled after Konami's Contra series (primarily taking after Hard Corps: Uprising) combined with elements of a Metroidvania game.

The game features Bachi in the starring role, with a character named Gunthor- the captain of the "Goon" enemies from Aozora's Adventure II appearing as a close ally. Sharkane, Grip, and Gnear are also selectable characters, with Rizer playing an important role in the game's story.

Items and Weapons[]

Weapons[]

The player can stockpile a total of three weapon types alongside the Starter gun which are switched between with triggers. The player can also drop weapons (barring the Starter weapon) by pressing the "Drop" button and will be automatically prompted to drop a weapon type if they pick up a fourth one.

  • Starter - A single bullet that is shot forwards and has low damage output. Can later be upgraded to have a faster rate of fire, traveling speed, and the ability to ricochet off surfaces. The player will always have this weapon.
  • Machine - An automatic-firing rifle that has slightly more power compared to the Starter gun, and shares it's upgrades.
  • Spread - A spread-shot gun with bullets that travel slower than the starter gun but can be upgraded to shoot in a 5-way spread instead of a 3 way spread and travel much faster, along with rebounding capabilities.
  • Heat - A chargeable shot that automatically charges the next shot if the player isn't shooting, firing bullets with fire orbs surrounding them which can destroy enemy projectiles. Can be upgraded to add a second fireball and thus increase damage output as well as increase the size and speed of the weapon as well.
  • Grenade - Obtained from Area 1, A grenade launcher that fires sphere-shaped grenades that bounce off surfaces, exploding shortly after first hitting a wall or immediately upon hitting an enemy. Can be upgraded to increase the rate of fire and the explosion range of each grenade.
  • Javelin - Obtained from Area 2, this weapon fires fast-moving spear-shaped shots that deal great damage per shot and pierces through enemy armor. Can be upgraded to further increase it's power and make it travel even faster.
  • Chaser - Obtained from Area 3, this weapon fires segmented lasers that bend and shape themselves to seek out enemies. Upgrades will result in the laser becoming more aggressive with seeking out targets and deal more damage.
  • Seeker - Obtained from Area 4, this enables the user to fire a constant laser beam that does weak damage but makes up for it by being able to bend and twist around enemies (including armor) to deal constant damage. Upgrades will thicken the laser and enable it to destroy weaker enemy projectiles as well.
  • Torpedo - Obtained from Area 5, this fires large but slow-moving torpedoes that gradually increase in speed as they travel. Once they come into contact with a surface or enemy, they erupt into a long-lasting explosion that deals continuous damage. Upgrades increase the speed of the weapon and the range of the explosions.
  • Impact - Obtained from Area 6, this coats the player character in a protective barrier and allows them to charge in one direction, steamrolling through enemies and projectiles without taking any damage. If used in the air, they must land before being able to use the weapon again. Can be upgraded to enable faster dashes.
  • Flamethrower - Obtained from Area 7, This is a handheld flamethrower that erupts a constant stream of fire as long as the player holds down the trigger, which deals massive damage and leaves a "burning" effect on enemies that slowly depletes their health for a few seconds. Upgrades for this weapon include bigger flames that spread out more and reach a greater distance before dissipating into the air.
  • Blackhole - Obtained from Area 8, this fires a small black orb that forms into a giant black hole when the player presses the trigger a second time that sucks in and instantly destroys weaker enemies or deals constant damage against stronger enemies. The player may only have one black hole out at a time, attempting to fire out another orbs will simply make the player shoot out their Starter shot.
